Does a casserole HAVE to be baked in a casserole dish?

I want to make a breakfast casserole for the morning. The recipe calls for a 13 x 9 casserole dish. I have a 13 x 9 nonstick pan...can I use it instead? The only pyrex I have is a deep dish pie pan.
The recipe says "cover and refridgerate overnight"....do I leave the cover on while baking?

You can use anything you want, so long as the food is densely packed and covered to bake.

A 9 x 13 casserole is just a pyrex (or corelle) dish with a lid. Just keep in mind that a metal container will cook your food 5-10 minutes faster due to the conductivity of the metal.
